What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the practice of including content on your site that has the potential to improve your site’s visibility to search engines and their users – in other words, it can help your site show up more often in relevant searches.
SEO is an important step to consider in digital marketing strategy because it sets your website up in a way that follows search engine guidelines to help you rank higher and be found online more often.
When your website has more traffic, you get more customers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! We do both on-page SEO and technical SEO. The on-page SEO process is mostly going through your site and making sure all meta data, tags, content, and links are optimized, whereas technical SEO focuses on page-speed optimization, eliminating 400 errors, and managing structured data. This all depends on the size of your website, the services you offer, and the industries you serve in. Generally, we recommend no more than 3 keywords per page. SEO is a long-game strategy for improving web traffic. Every client is a little different, but most of our clients start to see improvements within 3-6 months. Great question! Both use search engines and bring people to your website, but in different ways. This is probably best explained with an example. Let’s say you search for the term “Corporate Housing.” You will get many results, some are search ads, and some are organically populated because that website had a lot of rich, engaging content that is relevant to the term “Corporate Housing.” The search ad will be at the top, and it will have the word “Sponsored” above it. The organic result will likely be further down, but still within the first 10-20 search results. Both are great ways to increase web traffic, but ads tend to provide more immediate results than SEO. SEO is part of playing the long game, where ads are part of the immediate play. If your SEO efforts are successful and you can rank in the first couple search results, you may eventually be able to have SEO replace your search ads. Theoretically, yes, but it is quite unlikely. General terms have very competitive rankings and it is therefore difficult to rank for this. We would strongly suggest an alternative, such as “Dentist in Fort Collins” or “Dentists near me.” Technically, yes, no one can stop you from doing that, but we strongly advise against this. This is a practice called “Black Hat SEO” and google’s sophisticated super bots can tell when this is happening. If your website is caught using Black Hat SEO methods, google will penalize your website, and worsen its ranking. Simply put, maintaining an achieved ranking also takes a good deal of work. It is like lifting weights – if you stop lifting once you’ve achieved your goal, you will lose the strength that you have worked towards.
